In line with the LGU’s Cleaning and Greening Program, the Officials and Employees carry out the program of protecting Balungao’s natural resources. Apart from the annual tree planting, some days are devoted to clean-up drives and restoration of any damages or loss within the municipal grounds.
Many agencies, Non-government Organizations (NGO) including public schools conducted tree planting activities within Mt. Balungao. This year, approximately 3,000 fruit bearing and other types of trees were distributed to interested groups and individuals and planted in backyards and within Mt. Balungao.
Open burning and charcoal making are activities that are particularly prohibited by the LGU due to the damage it may cause the environment and even the diminishing number of trees.
